I Didn’t Know My Body Needed This Support—Until I Found It. Sophie, 28

"I remember the immense excitement when I found out I was pregnant. It was my first baby, and I felt ready to embrace this new adventure. But reality hit me quite quickly. I started experiencing pain in my hips and back as early as my second trimester. It hurt to walk for long periods, and even nights became difficult because of the discomfort.

The benefits of physical preparation for childbirth

That’s when I heard about the benefits of physical preparation for childbirth, particularly through physiotherapy. I decided to see a specialized physio who taught me exercises to strengthen my back, stretch my muscles, and prepare my body for what was to come. I had no idea how much of a difference it would make! The pain eased significantly, and I felt more in control.

The labor went faster than I had anticipated, but everything went smoothly. What stands out to me the most is that after giving birth, pelvic floor rehabilitation was essential for me. It wasn’t something I had heard much about beforehand, but these sessions helped me gradually regain my strength and avoid little inconveniences like urinary leaks, which can happen after giving birth. We often think the body will recover on its own, but in reality, it needs help and time.

Today, I often share my experience with my pregnant friends because I believe it’s crucial to know that you can be supported and accompanied throughout the journey, from the beginning of pregnancy to the postpartum period."
