HOME PHYSIOTHERAPY

Home physiotherapy: preparation for childbirth

Preparation for childbirth during a high-risk pregnancy with prescribed rest.

A high-risk pregnancy requiring rest may limit your movement, but it's still essential to prepare your body for childbirth. At-home physical therapy sessions allow you to gently work on:

  • Breathing management to promote optimal oxygenation and reduce stress.

  • Adapted exercises to maintain minimal mobility and prevent complications related to immobility.

  • Preparation of the perineum to minimize the risk of tears or episiotomy.

  • Preparation for birth (pain management, breathing, positions during labor and pushing techniques).

These sessions are fully personalized and respect your specific needs and medical limitations.

Home physiotherapy in the immediate postpartum period

Home physiotherapy sessions offer tailored follow-up, whether after a vaginal delivery or a cesarean section. They take place in the period before you resume postnatal physiotherapy sessions at the office: generally 4 to 6 weeks after a vaginal delivery and 6 to 7 weeks after a cesarean section. This personalized follow-up allows us to address your immediate needs while gently preparing you for your long-term recovery.

After a vaginal delivery:

The sessions aim to relieve any perineal pain, promote healing in the event of stitches, and work on posture to avoid tension in the back.

After a cesarean section:

Specific follow-up helps reduce scar adhesions, improve mobility and reduce abdominal tension.

In case of postpartum pain:

Physiotherapy can relieve pain related to breastfeeding postures, baby carrying or musculoskeletal imbalances.
